Research: What is CHIPS all about?
CHIPS has conducted extensive research into the
prevention efforts of health care professionals, covering numerous
health professions and health-related behaviors. Our research has focused on the following goals:
- Identifying and testing useful and effective practices
for prevention in health care settings
- Identifying optimal methods for behavioral risk assessment
across a variety of sensitive risk behaviors and a variety
of health care settings
- Conducting both quantitative and qualitative research to better understand
and describe the attitudes and practices of health care
professionals
- Conducting both quantitative and qualitative research to better understand
and describe the patients’ experiences in the health
care system
- Creating new systems that support health
care professionals’ work and implementing these systems
in field studies
